I.
Registration and Payment Policy |
||
|
1. Students choosing a language program must fill out a registration form available through Spanish and Culture in Context Website. Upon receipt of the completed online registration form, Spanish and Culture in Context will provide students, via regular mail, with

| 2. To properly
complete the registration, students will be required to send in the return
envelope ten percent (10%) of the cost of the
language program as a registration deposit . Registration deposit may be completed by either personal
check or money order. Registration deposit shall be received by
Spanish and Culture in Context
at least seven (7) weeks prior to the departure date. |
||
| 3.
Spanish and Culture
in Context will confirm
enrollment in the language program upon receipt of the registration
deposit. |
||
| 4. Students must
understand that about six (6) weeks prior to the departure date, they will
receive an invoice with the payment schedule of the remaining ninety
percent (90%) balance of the language program. The remaining balance
shall be paid in U.S. dollars at least five (5) weeks prior to the
departure date. |
||
| 5.
Spanish and Culture in Context
reserves the right to cancel the language program course, in which case
the full amount paid will be reimbursed to the students. |
||
| 6.
Spanish and Culture in
Context reserves the right to
remove students from the language program, terminate this agreement, and
charge the full cost of cancellation if payment for the remaining balance
is not made at least five (5) weeks prior to the departure date. See
section below on Cancellation Policy. |
||
|
7. Prices of the various language packages
can be found on the price lists provided by
Spanish and Culture in
Context and are quoted in U.S.
dollars. In case of price changes which may occur due to circumstances
outside of its control,
Spanish and Culture in Context
reserves the right to subsequently charge any additional costs of the
language program. Should the additional costs be more than ten percent
(10%) of the overall language program price, students have the right to
withdraw from the language program if they notify
Spanish and Culture
in Context of their
intention within five (5) days after receipt of the increase in cost. The
notification must comply with the procedure outlined under the
Cancellation Policy below. |

| 8. The price of
the language program will cover (1) the tuition for the language program;
(2) round trip air ticket Houston – Buenos Aires; (3) airport transfers in
Buenos Aires; (4) costs of hotels, if applicable; (5) costs of host family
accommodations, if applicable and (6) extra curricular activities included
in the package.
Spanish and Culture in Context
will assist in booking and reserving hotel
and host family accommodations. |

9. The price of the language program will
not cover (1) any food consumed in the foreign country and (2)
transportation costs in and around the foreign country. |
||
| 10. Students
must understand that they are responsible for all costs and expenses
associated with their participation in the language program, including
unexpected or unforeseen costs.
Spanish and Culture in Context
cannot be responsible for additional travel
costs or expenses that may result from airline schedule changes, flight
cancellations, natural disasters, crime, illness, or other unforeseen
events.

II. Cancellation Policy |
||
| 11. A request to
withdraw from the language program must be (1) in writing and (2) sent
U.S. Registered Mail, Return Receipt Requested to: |

| 12. The
request to withdraw from the language program must also be sent via
electronic mail (i.e., e-mail) to
info@spanishincontext.com. |
||
| 13.
Spanish and Culture
in Context must receive
the request to withdraw at least five (5) weeks prior to my departure
date. |
||
| 14. Spanish
and Culture in Context
reserves the right to keep the registration deposit as a termination
charge. |
||
| 15. If the
request to withdraw from the language program is made once the full amount
has been paid,
Spanish and Culture in Context
reserves the right to proceed as follows: |
||
|
(i) If cancellation is made five (5) weeks prior to the departure date, Spanish and Culture in Context will reimburse ninety percent (90%) of the cost of the language program; or
(ii) If cancellation is made less than five
(5) weeks prior to the departure date,
Spanish and Culture
in Context will reimburse
twenty-five percent (25%) of the cost of the language program and return
air tickets in accordance with the airline return policy. |
||
| 16. Once the
language program has begun,
Spanish and Culture in Context
will not reimburse any amount paid for it.

|
III.
Assumption of the Risk |
||
| 17. Spanish and Culture in Context assumes no responsibility or liability for any loss, damage, destruction, theft of the like to my luggage or personal belongings. | ||
|
18. Students must understand that they are
responsible for obtaining all necessary immunizations and for educating
and informing themselves about diseases, illnesses, and other health
concerns that may result from living and studying in a foreign country, or
traveling in the region. |
||
|
19. Students must understand that risks of
overseas travel include possible political and social upheavals and
terrorism, and that they should consult the Travel Advisory Hotline of the
United States State Department for all areas that they plan to travel. |
||
| 20. Students
must understand that traveling to and residing in places outside of the
United States involves risks such as accidents or illness, disease, poor
sanitation, inadequate medical care and facilities, terrorism, crime, the
hazards of travel by air, train, boat, and motor vehicle, natural
disasters, language and communication difficulties, and hazards arising
from a wide variety of events and circumstances that cannot be enumerated. |
||
| 21. Students
must understand that the social, cultural, and political norms in foreign
countries may differ from those to which they are accustomed in the United
States. They will exercise reasonable care for their own safety
throughout their participation in the language program. |
||
| 22. Spanish
and Culture in Context does
not monitor or control the personal decisions, choices, and activities of
participants in the language program. They understand that if they have
or develop problems with any foreign nationals or governmental agency of
the host country, they will attend to the matter personally with their own
personal funds.
Spanish and Culture in Context
does not guarantee or promise what, if any,
assistance it can provide under such circumstances. |
||
| 23. Students
must understand that they are responsible for complying with the terms and
policies of participation of the
Spanish and Culture
in Context, and for
obeying host country laws.
Spanish and Culture in Context
may reserve the right to decline to retain
them in the language program at any time should their actions or behavior,
in the sole discretion of the
Spanish and Culture in Context,
impede or obstruct the progress of the language program in any way. They
understand that one of the consequences for non-compliance may be an early
return to the United States at their own additional expense. |

| 24. Students
must understand that they are responsible for securing health and travel
insurance to provide adequate coverage for any injuries or illnesses that
they may sustain or experience while participating in the language
program, including but not limited to medical evacuation or
repatriation. |
||
|
25. While
Spanish and Culture in Context
recommends that they visit
www.internationalstudentinsurance.com or
www.InsuranceToGo.com for affordable student insurances worldwide,
Spanish
and Culture in Context is
not affiliated with the companies promoting the information on the
Website.
Spanish and Culture in Context
does not guarantee the accuracy of the
information on such Websites. |

|
26. Students should personally assume all risks, whether foreseen or unforeseen, arising out of or in connection with my participating in the language program for any harm, injury or damage that may befall them or their property while traveling, residing, studying or participating in any activities connected with the language program.

|
V. Indemnification |
||
| 27. Students
will release, promise not to sue, hold harmless, and indemnify
Spanish and Culture in
Context, its Board of
Trustees, officers, employees, faculty, staff, and representatives (“Releasees”)
from and against any and all liability for any harm, injury, damage,
claims, demands, actions, causes of action, costs, and expenses including
attorneys’ fees, of any nature that they may have or that may accrue to
them, arising out of or related to any loss, damage or injury, including
but not limited to, suffering and death, that may be sustained by them or
any property belonging to them, while in, or in transit to or from the
foreign country, including living in any hotel or residence of any host
family, occurs or being conducted. |
||
| 28. It will be
the students intent that this agreement will bind members of their
families and spouses, if they are alive, and their estate, family, heirs,
personal representatives, or assigns, if they are deceased, and will be
deemed as a release, waiver, and discharge of Releasees from, and covenant
not to sue Releasees for, any claim by them or their family, arising out
of their participation in the language program. They should further agree
to save and hold harmless, indemnify, and defend Releasees from any claim
made by them or their families arising out of their participation in the
language program. They should further agree to save and hold harmless,
indemnify, and defend Releasees from any claim made by any third party
arising out of their conduct or participation in the language program.

VI. Miscellaneous Provisions |
||
| 29. If any provision or aspect of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, all remaining provisions of this agreement will remain in full force and effect. | ||
